I was afraid that a little drizzle was going to hold us back from having fun on Saturday, as VA PrideFest was fast approaching and so was the rain. However, after arriving at about 3:45 and still seeing crowds of people gathering, I knew it was on. Excited, I grabbed my camera, my security guard/partner in crime, and my MAC lip-gloss and headed out to take pictures of RVA’s most creative and unique people. It wasn’t long before a hard drizzle came in, scaring me again into thinking that people were going to leave. Although it was quite annoying to have raindrops on my head, I felt secure in the idea that this event isn’t ending anytime soon. I saw people finding refuge under trees, canopies, and tents, determined to keep the party going. I enjoy this environment, of people in support of a cause so much greater than themselves. A reason for us all to love, laugh and live together in Pride and respect. You didn’t have to be apart of the LGBT community to attend this event.
